Led by Adam Shapiro from California (USA) and Andrew Angus from Melbourne, the Band will give insights into and perform a Suite from Philidor's Le Marriage de la Grosse Cathos (Fat Cathy's Wedding) using the original scoring for oboes and bassoons from this landmark Baroque opera. It is also the only opera from this period featuring a character in drag and an extortion scam—fun to be had by all!

The concert will include Jonathan Harvey’s ‘Ricercare una melodia’ (1984), for solo oboe and electronics, Sydney based composer Paul Stanhope’s ‘Aftertraces…’ (2011), and James Macmillan’s ‘Intercession’ (1991).
