Melbourne Youth Music’s Ensemble Program provides members aged 8 – 25 with regular Saturday rehearsals and performance opportunities in a supportive environment. MYM programs complement existing instrumental lessons and school ensemble rehearsals, providing students with a forum to share their passion for music with like-minded people. For students without school ensemble opportunities, MYM is the perfect place to meet new friends!

MYM’s team of Ensemble Conductors have a demonstrated passion and skill for ensemble music making, while regular tutorials and special projects offer members unique extension opportunities to further develop their musical skills.

WASO - Section Principal Oboe
West Australian Symphony Orchestra is calling for Expressions of Interest for the position of Section Principal Oboe. The following must be included with the Expression of Interest:
• A current CV with two referees
• A professional quality recording of the applicant (own choice of material).

Shortlisted candidates may be invited to Perth (at WASO’s expense) to perform a short period as Guest Principal Oboe, during which time they will be asked to perform a full audition. Audition requirements will be:
1. Mozart Oboe Concerto in C major, K. 314 – 1st and 2nd movements (with cadenza)
2. Richard Strauss Oboe Concerto – 1st movement
3. Orchestral excerpts – available online from Monday 19 December 2011

This position is open to all applicants of all nationalities.

Stolen from Ferntree, Tasmania, 19th November 2006. Student model circa 1985, red-brown. Some of the keywork (nickel silver) quite heavily worn with no high D. Small chip on wood on butt joint near Bb key. In black case with black felt internal lining.
